Originally from Australia, Kelly A. Parkes is Director and Associate Professor of the Music and Music Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. She is also the Chair of the Teacher Education Policy Committee. She has served as the Chair for the National Association for Music Education Assessment Special Research Interest Group, and as Co-Chair for their work in developing Model Cornerstone Assessments that accompany the 2014 National K-12 Music Standards in the USA. Her research is focused on assessment, teacher education, and the applied studio. She currently serves on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Research in Music Education.
Jared R. Rawlings, Ph.D. serves as Associate Professor and Associate Director of the School of Music at The University of Utah. Rawlings consistently works with scholars, master pedagogues, and performing artists of varied disciplines and his award-winning research, which appears in leading research journals and texts, focuses on bullying assessment and prevention in arts classrooms. He has presented this research to international audiences and currently serves as a peer reviewer for scholarly journals, including the American Educational Research Journal, Journal of Child Development, Youth and Society, Music Educators Journal and Panel Reviewer for the National Endowment for the Arts.
